Candidate Charter

VMA Group Candidate Charter 2006

Our commitment to you:

• As soon as you have had an initial interview with a VMA Group consultant you become a candidate, and we make a commitment to identify public relations roles that suit your experience and expectations.
• VMA Group will treat your details confidentially and will always seek your permission before discussing your experience with any clients.
• We earn our fee by finding you a communications job and it is always our intention to do so. However it is unrealistic, even for a successful company such as VMA Group, for us to find a match for every candidate. We will make every effort to provide you with opportunities and will use the information you have provided to promote you to our clients.
• We will keep you informed during every step of the recruitment process and if we do not have any suitable opportunities, we will agree with you on frequency of contact and offer advice on other ways to supplement your search activity.
• If an assignment requires a professional qualification we are required to check references.
• In accordance with the Data Protection Act, we will dispose of your records after two years if no contact has been made within the last 12 months.
• We aim to foster a positive environment in which candidates, clients and employees are confident in the consistency of approach and application of equality and diversity in practice.
• No client, candidate or employee will receive less favourable treatment than another as a result of direct or indirect discrimination.

Your commitment to us:

• We expect you to provide us with accurate and up to date information. Please be honest with us about your experience and qualifications.
• Please keep us informed of any changes to your contact details or circumstances.
• Please return our calls as soon as you can and where possible provide us with feedback within one working day of attending an interview arranged by VMA Group.
• Please provide us with honest feedback following your interviews. This will help us to refine future searches we conduct on your behalf.
• We ask all candidates to prove their eligibility to work in the UK in order to comply with employment legislation. You are required to bring proof to your meeting with us (ie original or photocopy of your European/UK passport or appropriate work visa). If you are not eligible to work in the UK we are unable to represent you.
• If you have already applied for a position which VMA Group subsequently briefs you about, please let us know. It is our policy not to duplicate the work of other recruitment agencies or to put you forward for a role you have already applied for.
• Please let us know if you are no longer looking for a new job.
