Event Overview
On 14th December VMA Group played host to more than 130 guests at the Law Society for our breakfast event with The Apprentice's Nick Hewer. The event kicked off with a welcome by VMA International Managing Director, Oskar Yasar, who introduced Apprentice series one winner, Tim Campbell. Tim spoke briefly about his time on the show before introducing the charity which he has founded, The Bright Ideas Trust. Tim spoke passionately about the trust which has been set up to help young people who are not in employment, education or training to learn the basics of business and acquire skills which will stay with them for life.
Oskar then introduced Nick Hewer who started by giving a short presentation on his route to the safer side of the boardroom table before receiving questions from both Oskar and the audience. The room was enthralled by Nick's fascinating insight into the programme and heard how his background in PR eventually lead to him meeting and, somewhat reluctantly, working with a new client, a little known company called Amstrad. He went on to tell us how this eventually lead him to sit alongside Lord Sugar as his right hand man. We also gained an insiders view into life behind the scenes on the Apprentice and learnt exactly what it was like to work for Lord Sugar. What we did not learn, despite searching questions, was who will win the Apprentice 2010.
